02/15/2008: MY VERY FIRST NFL GAME

That's right. In the three years I've been here in Hawaii, I finally went to the Pro Bowl, which just happened to be my very first NFL game. Before I get into the specifics, let me just take the time to warn all of you....if you are going to spend anywhere around three hours at any event, BRING SUNSCREEN!!!!
Alright, now that I have that over with, I did have a good time down there. The first half, specifically the first quarter, provided enough entertainment to sustain my interest, mainly because the action was all at my end of the field. I was very pleased with the halftime show, specifically the band selection. I was worried because the last two Pro Bowls featured artists that, in my opinion, weren't even worth listening to. I'm not saying that the Backstreet Boys and K C & JoJo (or whoever it was) aren't talented in any way. I'm just saying that the only time I ever listen to those two groups is when I'm being forced to.
And with that said, I'm starting to realize why football has mascots and cheerleaders. They provided the ONLY entertainment for me during the second half....oh yeah, and the 5-minute wave toward the end of the game.

02/22/2008: ELWAY FOR PRESIDENT....

08/28/2008: DNC

Sad to say....I think BOTH Pepsi Center AND Mile High have now been DEFILED.

08/11/2008: WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE AS OLYMPIC SPORTS

So 08/08/08 is finally upon us....
My main question is this:
I'm hearing that women's softball will somehow go out of style as an olympic sport....BUT WHY??? Why would they want to get rid of the wonderful sport that is women's softball???

I have an idea....lets instead get rid of some of the other olympic "sports" out there. The main one that comes to mind is from the winter games, called Curling. In my view, it's just about as exciting as watching golf....or watching paint dry....or watching the grass grow. Come on, it's not even a sport.

I say lets just get rid of it, and replace it with a little more substance....a little more action, so to speak.

Alright, so here is what I think SHOULD be there:
We could have olympic pool, olympic air hockey, olympic poker (or some other form of card game)....full-contact, of course.
HAHA we could even have olympic knitting, and just have it be a race to see who can knit a quilt the fastest....or something to that effect.

Come on, I think these are excellent alternatives to Curling. So who's with me?

12/16/2008: TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE A NON-DENOMINATIONAL WINTER HOLIDAY

A Larry the Cable Guy Classic....good stuff

..

Twas the night before a non-denominational winter holiday when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The neutral gift sacks were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that a non-specific holiday figure would soon be there.
Children of every race, creed and nationality were resting all snug in their beds
While visions of sugar-free plums danced in their heads.
When out on the lawn, there arose such a clatter
I got out of bed to see what was the matter
and to see who was violating the neighborhood sound level ordinance.
But what to my wondering eyes did appear
But an emissions-free vehicle and eight size-challenged reindeer.
Holiday figure was so lively and quick
I knew in a moment, it must be....Holiday Figure.
He had a broad but normal face, an advanced-sized belly
And he laughed, "Lady of the evening, Lady of the evening, Lady of the evening"
(Can you believe that??? What in the world, you can't even say Ho-Ho-Ho no more)

07/03/2010: PLEDGE V2.0

"I pledge allegiance to The Man
Of the United Nations of the Earth
And to the Socialist Agenda for which he stands
One World under (choose your god here), surely divided
with servitude and injustice for all"

I understand this may require some tweaking here and there.
I invite your input to make this the best pledge spoof ever!
