03/09/2010: My Thoughts on Some Broncos Topics
Just thought I’d share some of my thoughts on some Bronco Topics:
JOSH MCDANIELS- He might be arrogant, brash, and immature, BUT HE’S NOT STUPID. He is addressing many of the immediate needs of the Broncos. He’s got a new offensive line coach, a new D-coordinator, some new players on both the offensive and defensive line, and a new blocking philosophy. Just with these changes alone, I predict we’ll be in the play-offs for 2010, with our first winning season in years.
BRANDON MARSHALL- He was offered a new contract and a 14% raise. He’s a great player, but has been a big headache for the franchise since he’s been with the Broncos. He’s talked to the Seahawks, which is understandable, BUT MCDANIELS IS NOT GETTING RID OF HIM. Like I said, he was given a fair new contract offer, and nobody forced him to go to Seattle to talk to Pete Carroll. He said that he wanted to stay with the Broncos, SO WHY IS HE CHECKING OUT OTHER TEAMS ???
1ST ROUND PICK- It won’t be Dez Bryant if Brandon Marshall leaves. I am disagreeing with the experts who say we will need a 1st round wide receiver with Marshall gone…we have Gaffney, Stokely and Royal, and all of them can get the job done….My 1st round prediction is QUARTERBACK. If McDaniels has a successful year (as I believe he will) he’s going to be around for a while, and we’ll need a franchise quarterback for our upcoming Superbowl trips. I like Kyle Orton, but to get to a Superbowl, we are going to need a franchise quarterback….My favorite is Sam Bradford, but I’m also starting to like Tim Tebow. McDaniels’ is a quarterback coach, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes the best QB available when it’s our pick
