It all started for me about 10 years ago. Although I have been a Denver Broncos Fan for most of my 40 years. I’ve always wanted to have that decked out house full of Broncos memorabilia. I do have quite a bit but realized that I wanted to do more. I wanted to do something different. I thought to myself what about a Tattoo. After discussing it with my girlfriend at the time she said I’ll buy you your first for a birthday present. I was surprised to say the least, now the decision was easy, I knew what I wanted. A Broncos Tattoo.

I started with the new Denver Broncos logo on my left leg when I was 30 years old. After a few years I wanted more and was in a position to get more. At this point my girlfriend who was now my wife had met an artist in Arizona that did phenomenal work and she had started to have work done by him. She introduced me and after a few meetings I decided to get my second tattoo on my right calf. Once again I chose a Broncos Tattoo. This time it would be the alternate logo. After about 5 hours I walked away with the best work I had ever seen.

So that is when it all started. At this point I had become pretty good friends with my artist and visited many times with my wife. One day I’m sitting in his studio and out of the blue stated that I wanted to have my entire upper body tattooed as a Broncos Jersey. He stopped, looked at me and said “Are you Serious”, my wife popped off and said NO. But I was serious, it actually became a joke between us for several months, then one day my wife said OK do it. Well at that moment I had never thought she would say ok so I had changed my mind. I had decided to put the jersey on my leg.

The decision was easy, it would be a John Elway Throwback Jersey. We started working on it right away. The tattoo took approximately 45 hours over a year and a half to complete. When we were just about done I started thinking about more and decided to devote my entire left leg to John. After all he did give us, especially me, some unforgettable memories. Since completing the jersey I have added a portrait of John, John holding the Superbowl XXXII trophy and a throw back helmet. I’m far from being done.

Although I have a lot of tattoos dedicated to John and the memories he gave me, I have plans to dedicate more tattoos to the Denver Broncos. I have a few ideas but I am keeping my options open for the many years to come and some new memories that I know the Broncos will give me through out the rest of my life.
