Broncos Country Changes

Over the last few months, our team and several members have been closely examining BroncosCountry.com in an effort to improve the usability and overall site experience. After much consultation and research we are happy to announce these changes, which will be arriving on Wednesday, 09/23/2009. To enable us to deliver these changes, BroncosCountry.com will be unavailable from 12:00 AM Wednesday morning until 2:00 AM Wednesday morning.

The first major change is the elimination of the points system. In its place, we are implementing a system where you can earn badges for uploads and high ratings. Below is the scale and the types of rewards:

• Images
  • Level 1 - 10 Images uploaded
  • Level 2 - 20 Images uploaded / Average rating of 3.0 for each image
  • Level 3 - 50 Images uploaded / Average rating of 3.5 for each image
• Chef
  • Level 1 - 10 recipes uploaded
  • Level 2 - 20 recipes uploaded / Average rating of 3.0 for each recipe
  • Level 3 - 50 recipes uploaded / Average rating of 3.5 for each recipe
• Social
  • Level 1 - 30 friends
  • Level 2 - 300 friends / Being one of the first 5 people to befriend a new user 10 times
  • Level 3 - 1000 friends / Being one of the first 5 people to befriend a new user 25 times
• Audio
  • Level 1 - 10 audio files uploaded
  • Level 2 - 20 audio files uploaded / Average rating of 3.0 for each audio file
  • Level 3 - 50 audio files uploaded / Average rating of 3.5 for each audio file
• Critic
  • Level 1 - Rated 1000 pieces of content
  • Level 2 - Rated 2000 pieces of content
  • Level 3 - Rated 5000 pieces of content
• Editorial
  • Level 1 - 10 stories uploaded
  • Level 2 - 20 stories uploaded / Minimum length of 250 characters per story / Average rating of 3.0 for each story
  • Level 3 - 50 stories uploaded / Minimum length of 250 characters per story / Average rating of 3.5 for each story
• Video
  • Level 1 - 10 video files uploaded
  • Level 2 - 20 video files uploaded / Average rating of 3.0 for each video
  • Level 3 - 50 video files uploaded / Average rating of 3.5 for each video
• Special
  • Citizens who won the "Citizen of the Year" award.

Those of you who have already met these platforms will see badges on your pages starting on Wednesday, 09/23/2009.

Along with the changes to the points system, we are also making changes to your home page. When you log in, your new home page with show content from many of your friends to help you stay in touch. Content will include the latest images uploaded, latest blogs posted, latest badge awarded, latest user who signed up, latest shouts in any of your group shoutboxes and upcoming events in your groups.

On the new user/profile pages, you will be able to see which groups another user is a member of, quick analytics to show how many users have visited your page today, an area to show off the badges you've been awarded, a progress bar showing disk space used/remaining and a new, easier way to edit your profile info.

All of these changes are being done so that we can continue to make BroncosCountry.com the internet home for Broncos' fans throughout the country.
